Twin Time!

This past weekend Travis' twin brother and his wife came out to visit with us. It's so funny, both Katie, Tyson's wife and I realize that when the twins get together us or "the wives" are totally left to fend for ourselves. It's funny to watch them together they are totally in their own little zone, cute little twinners!

We had a blast with them here and also being able to finally physically show some part of our family the true meaning of HOT weather. We tell our family it's hot but now they are our witnesses to the true intensity of the heat that we live in out here in the desert, and it was actually alot cooler than usual while they were down here!

We took them up the Palm Springs Ariel Tram. We took the tram to the top right before the sun set. We then walked around the little museum they have show casing the different wildlife they have up in the mountains here. We ate at the restaurant that overlooks the city and then we rode down in the dark which is really fun. Travis and I rode the Tram at night for my birthday in January and we thought it really cool, but there was no moon out when we went this last time with Tyson and Katie , it was still fun though. Seeing the city lights as we came down, really cool.

As we were walking back to our car we saw this raccoon.

We also took a day and made a little road trip down to La Jolla, without Travis because he had to work:( We went there the last time they came down and they wanted to go again. When we got down there we went to a little look out where you can see down into a little sea lion habitat. It didn't look like any sea lions were down there, but we saw some swimming farther out later on. They are so cute! We then ventured down to La Jolla cove only to discover that we had come just as it was high tide. We decided to brave it and as I was jumping off the stairs onto the sand I got totally soaked, so did Katie! It's funny because that is what happened last time we came too! So we threw our stuff up on some rocks out of the way of the incoming waves and started to explore the little that was left of the beach. The water was pretty cold but Tyson and Katie were total troopers and actually got in and swam in the water! We had a pretty fun time until massive waves started coming in and covering the whole beach! I started getting a little scared because I saw no way out and the waves just kept coming. I seriously thought we were going to get caught down there. So we high tailed it out of there pretty quick.

We ended our beach trip with In-N-Out, YUM and a night of games and a movie! Well, we tried to introduce the all time classic movie of Willow to the twins but as soon as the movie started Travis was out and Tyson soon followed, maybe another time we will get to finish it with them!

We had a great time and we love it when family comes to visit!

Advancement

This month both of my brothers have advanced in the priesthood. The older of my brothers, Logan, became an elder and my youngest brother, Mason, became a deacon. Travis wasn't able to make it out to be there for Logan's advancement so I went out to Temecula for the night, then after wards we went out to dinner with the family.

A couple weeks later Travis and I went out to Temecula again for Mason's special night. It's pretty cool to see my little brothers growing up so fast! I can't believe that Logan is turning in his papers for his mission already! It's so crazy to think that he is turning 19 next month and will be leaving for 2 years. We are excited for him but will miss him alot! We are really pleased with the choices and the progress that they both are making. We love them both!

This picture was taken almost a year ago. Logan's hair is alot shorter now!

Still working on the missionary styling!

First part of our trip to Utah

We decided that we would head up to our family reunion a few days early to spend some time with Travis' family. I drove the WHOLE time, yay me! Travis had worked the whole night before so that left me as the driver. On the way up right before, through and after Vegas we hit this HUGE lightning storm. Lightning seriously hit the ground a few yards from our car. This is what it looked like as I was driving towards it...

This is my visibility through the windshield!

We got there safely though. And we spent our first day just driving around Orem and shopping while everyone was at work. We ALWAYS have a few places that we HAVE to eat at and Gandolfos is one of those places, so we stopped in for lunch.

That night we met up with all the in-laws and had dinner at Cafe Rio, YUM!

Afterwards we went over to Travis' twin brother Tyson's house and we chatted for a while and then we put on our suits and went swimming in their community pool! I love swimming!

Our nephew Kelson, he loves to swim! He is sporting his swim trunks.

The next day Travis' mom and dad had the day off so they took us down to Salt Lake and we had lunch at the Lion House Pantry. It was really good food! I had never been there before to eat. After lunch we went to watch the new Joseph Smith movie at the Legacy Theater in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Then we took some pictures in temple square of the Salt Lake Temple.

I have never taken a picture here before. I have always wanted too pretty cool. There were like a million people taking pics here from all over the world, so many accents and languages going on while we were taking pics here it was cool.

Later that night we set off some fireworks with Tyson and Katie at mom and dad Tucker's house. Right after getting through Vegas there is a gas station on an Indian reservation that sells HUGE amounts of fireworks, You could find anything there, seriously. It was pretty awesome. So we bought some to light off. Shhhh...don't tell...

Travis and Tyson showing me and Katie how Morning Glories fireworks are like blow torches and they were torching holes through this tin can. They thought it was the coolest thing.

We always go to IceBerg every time no matter what, it's where we met!

Yum!

The next day I went up to Salt Lake to see Jamie. We went to lunch at an Irish Pub called McCools. It was really cool inside and very good food! At least I thought so...

The chicken strip queen begrudgingly eating the PLAIN chicken sandwich I made her order!

Outside the red door at McCools

After lunch we came out to find that our car had been blocked in by a huge semi that was unloading food. So we walked around the stores for a while to kill some time.

Sunglasses shopping

After finally getting our car free we headed over to the London Market in Salt lake, then over to the English tea house next door. We got some Red velevet cake and some crumpets. Yum!

The picky eater queen wasn't so sure about the red velvet cake, but ended up liking it, I think.

MMMMMM....

That night we got together with some of Travis' friends, Tyson and Katie, Mom and dad Tucker, and Travis' other brother Thad, his wife Jenny and our nephew Kelson and we went out to dinner at brick oven pizza in provo. Another must have when we come up! The next day we were off to my family reunion. We had a great time visiting and we were glad we could come up early and spend some time with Travis' family!
