Mmmmm...cookies

Tonight Travis and I had a fun evening of baking and decorating some yummy sugar cookies. We didn't make them for any special reason just for a treat. Travis actually helped roll out the dough and cut the cookies and place them on the pans, usually he just waits until I am done making them and then he eats them, no other involvement. We had a lot of fun frosting and sprinkling some colored sugar on them. Here are some pictures from our cookie filled night...

Better late than never

After Valentines Day I went down to my parents house for a few days so I didn't get a chance to write an entry about our Valentines Day. Our Valentines day was spread over a few days actually, On the Wednesday before the 14th we went out to Dinner at the Macaroni Grill and then out to a movie. On the actual Valentines Day I went out while Travis was sleeping and got him a bag full of his favorite goodies.

He said that he had a special gift for me too but it was not ready yet. So on Saturday we set out to my parents house so that Travis could pick up his motorcycle and I was going to stay a few days longer. When I got back from my parents I was presented with this...I LOVE IT! Travis knows that I love Jewelry and Love collecting it! So I was so happy that he got me this awesome ring and now I can add it to my collection! It was an awesome Valentines!

Rain and hail were reported early this morning in the San Jacinto Valley. Snowfall was also falling in the local mountains and higher neighboring communities such as Beaumont and Yucaipa this morning with even some reports of snow in Lambs Canyon. The precipitation should begin to dissipate later this afternoon as moderate offshore winds take over. Even as the offshore winds weaken Friday, high pressure is predicted to build, and the results should be clear skies and a warming trend through Monday. The next cooling trend should begin Tuesday, with perhaps another chance of rain by mid-week. I got this off of the Hemet Weather pages. I heard over the radio this morning that it was snowing in hemet also. I can't believe there is snow for Valentines day 2008 in Southern Cali! Crazy! Here in La Quinta it is just wicked cold and we have had very light sprinklings of rain. Time to cuddle up and have a cup of chocolate with your loved one! I love this weather!

If I had a million dollars!

I would spend some of it (or maybe all of it) at the Cabazon Outlets! My sisters and mom came out to visit this weekend and we took a day trip to the Cabazon Outlets. I was in heaven! Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Barney's New York, Juicy Couture, Coach, Dior, Burberry, Elie Tahari, Giorgio Armani and much more! We had an awesome time going through all those awesome shops, but I have found my new favorite shop among all of them Judith Leiber. Here are some of the beautiful handbags that they make. CupCakes For Dinner

Not having the best day, and Travis heading off to work at 6pm, I am left to fend for myself at dinner time. Not wanting to take the time and effort to make a big dinner for myself and wanting something sweet I pulled the cake mix and frosting out of the cupboard and made myself a yummy treat. 

At an office that I used to work at, when anyone was in a bad mood and being a little snippy with other people in the office someone would announce, "does someone need some chocolate?" So these cupcakes are my chocolate for the day! 

Our New First Presidency

New First Presidency Announced

Thomas S. Monson is the new president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it was announced today at a news conference in the Church Office Building. President Monson, 80, succeeds President Gordon B. Hinckley, who passed away January 27th.

The new world leader of the Church has called to serve with him in the First Presidency, the top governing body of the 13-million-member faith, President Henry B. Eyring, 74, first counselor, and President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, 67, second counselor.

President Boyd K. Packer, 83, is the new president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The vacancy in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will be filled later.

Yay For Cable!

Today we got our cable TV hooked up! I am so excited! Since I am waiting to get the rest of my application put together for subbing out here...I am waiting for reference letters and a copy of my transcripts to be mailed to me...and the fact that we only have one car available at the moment...I have been stuck at home for most of the time that we have lived out here! I had the house unpacked pretty much the first day and there is only so much laundry and cleaning that a person can do. At least now I have another form of entertainment besides the computer to fill my time. I have been having withdrawals from my favorite shows and channels. I am totally excited to be able to watch them again. Also tomorrow we will be attending our rightful ward and we are looking forward to seeing what it will be like. Hopefully we will make some new friends.
