Easter 2008

We had our first Easter just us this year. We didn't visit with any family we just stayed at our little apartment and had our own stuff going on. We had Easter baskets for each other and I made a yummy Easter dinner. I made ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, and biscuits and then we had a ton of Easter candy for dessert. Can anyone say sugar coma?

We really missed being around family for the holiday though, but we had a great Easter just the two of us. We didn't dye eggs though, we never have since we have been married, I don't quite know why, sad I know:( Here are some pictures of us looking through our baskets!

Travis and his Easter basket
His Easter egg card I got him
Tons of his favorite yummy treats
Travis hid my basket under a towel and a blanket, behind the couch,
He makes me laugh!
Me and my scary face when I saw a new camera in my basket
And my favorite candy peanut butter M&M's
Darko was not interested in the baskets
But the baby, (freddie) was all over it
He loved the baskets and especially the grass

All and all it was a good Easter!

Leprechaun Smile

For Saint Patrick's day we went out to a pub and had dinner. It was really fun we went into downtown Palm Desert and there were tons of people out walking around and they were all wearing green and some had on funny hats and shirts and such. Lots of people drinking though, the restaurant turned all the clearer drinks green which was kinda cool to see. We had fun and then we went to see Horton Hears a Who, which was pretty good. I love Saint Patrick's day, One year I want to go to Ireland on the week of St. Patrick's day I think that would be really fun!

Sprouts!

My garden, well my pots, are starting to sprout little leaves! My pumpkins and my snapdragons have not come up yet though:( but I am so excited to see them all grow! My other flowers that I bought are also starting to bloom! I had to redo this post because there was a huge space at the end of it sorry. Here are the pictures of the progress...

Green Thumb?

I have decided to try out my green thumb. So I got busy and I bought some planters and planted some mammoth sunflower seeds, their heads are supposed to get 1 foot in diameter, some autumn colored sunflower seeds, some snapdragon seeds and some pumpkin seeds...I know, I know pumpkins get out of control but I am going to let them go crazy all over our little porch that we have and its not forever just a few weeks. I am actually the most excited about my pumpkins! I also bought some morning glory seeds and I want to see if I can get them to climb all over this wrought iron shelf stand thing that we have out on our front porch. Then I bought some pots and potted some pansies and a hydrangea plant and a little bush with yellow flowers, I can't remember what that one is called but it smells soooo good! We also bought a humming bird feeder because the purple flowers that the apartment people planted in front of our door attract them and so we hung the feeder right over the purple flowers, that is Travis' favorite part he loves to watch for the humming birds to come and see if they eat out of our feeder. We also got a wooden patio set so that we could sit out on our porch in the evenings when it's cooler outside. I love our new little patio/porch. Here are some pictures...

Our new little man

This is our new little kitty! We adopted him about a week ago. He had a brother and a sister with him at the adoption place and they were so cute, I wish I could have taken all the kitties home with me! He is a ferocious ball of energy, a definite hand full. I had forgotten how curious and energetic kittens are, but he is still cute. He always wants to be right on top of everything you are doing (he is laying on the computer as I am typing this).  We have not chosen a name for him yet any suggestions? We love him lots and are happy we could rescue him!
